Error message after update to WordPress 5.4

  • The error happens trying to put a category in the menu

    This is the error message:
    Deprecated: category_link is deprecated since version 2.5.0! Use term_link instead. in \wp-includes\functions.php on line 5088

    I think this is an WordPress update error, I don’t know if this is where I have to report it.

  • It is a known bug.

    If this is essential to your website, you can consider using:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-rollback/

    Full Site Editing is planned before the end of the year, so I do recommend trying to get used to the new WordPress features and learning to make the most of their significant potential, but I do also understand that you need your site to work.

    If you do decide to go that route:
    – First make sure that you have cleared any caching plugin
    – ensure you have a full backup.

    We were discussing this error in Slack and Swissspidy asked if you have Yoast installed?
    It may be that that needs to be updated, either on your end, or on Yoast’s end.

    I can’t confirm that that is the issue, but it is worth checking out.

    thanks for you. Thank you for your recommendation. I receive the error message but the site is working correctly, of course in the online version I have the errors hidden.

    About Yoast, I updated it today and I’m still getting the error.
