Error message at the top of every page

  • I was trying to configure a new theme in my blog (wp 3.2) when I got an error message at the top of every page saying :
    “Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in /home/thessgr/public_html/blog/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 198”
    followed by the same message but for line 199. THis kept repeating at the top of every page.
    Can anybody suggest a solution?
