It is a CSS issue.
You need to change the CSS and this will work for sure.

Never mind, I end up not displaying wpcf7-not-valid-tip but instead use wpcf7-validation-errors. It works but could be better if it was wpcf7-not-valid-tip. Sorry, I can’t share the url.
