• Receiving the similar error message for every plugin update:

    Download failed. Could not open handle for fopen() to /var/chroot/home/content/92/9332792/tmp/contact-form-plugin.tmp.

    At first I thought it was just an issue with YouTube Embed, then W3TC had the same issue, and now contact form, and about 4 other plugins that require updates are giving the same message.

    Website is em2wl.com

    I just discovered that I also cannot upload media. Not sure if it is unrelated, but I get an error message:

    “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

    Pasting this code into the bottom of the wp-config helped me to be able to upload images again:

    define (‘WP_TEMP_DIR’,ABSPATH.’wp-content/uploads/’);

    But it still does not allow me to update/install any plugins. I attempted to change permissions, although I’m not sure what they should be set at in order for the plugins to work. The changes that I’ve tried so far, are to no avail.

    I changed the web user permissions to readable, writeable, and executable (already selected) in the plugin file. Then tried to update a plugin, and still get the following error:

    An error occurred while updating Contact Form Plugin: Download failed. Could not open handle for fopen() to /var/chroot/home/content/92/9332792/tmp/contact-form-plugin.tmp.

    Whatever the problem is also affecting my access to my site via iPhone app. The last few days whenever I’m on the app, I cannot access anything, but instead I get the message:

    “Couldn’t sync. Blog returned invalid data.”
