Error message for Revive Old Posts – status”:429

  • Hi everyone,

    Yesterday we followed the guideline and properly set up the plugin with: 1)functions code 2)twitter dev account 3) properly signed with with keys

    And everything worked for nearly 24 hours, and an hour ago it has stopped working out of the blue and keep getting this error:

    Error posting on twitter. Error: {"title":"Too Many Requests","detail":"Too Many Requests","type":"about:blank","status":429}

    We really love how the plugin works (we just need the auto post article to twitter, not to revive old posts on our twitter account). Any way to resolve this please?

    Edit: Tried signing out and signing back in with the API keys and same error persists.

    Loved this plugin when it was working well with Twitter
    The problem started about the time when Twitter converted to X
    Using own API keys with the plugin does not correct the problem

    Some posts post to Twitter randomly every other day or so, but most post do not get posted. About 2-3 posts per day is well within the API limits and should not be returning too many requests. Please advise!

    Thank you for using Revive Old Post.

    The error mentioned happens due to the X (Twitter) limits of posts shared per day. The solution is to create your app on X and share posts by using your API keys in ROP to extend the limit. This can be done by following the steps within this doc.

    In case the same error occurs after configuring your API keys, it happens due to the individual limit. There isn’t something we can do in this regard right now, unfortunately, as the limitation doesn’t rely on our plugin.
