Error message: .htaccess: without matching section

I was deleting old images from my library when I got booted out and am only getting this message now.

Error in /mnt/w0335/d16/s08/b030f78b/www/sohosalesblog.com/.htaccess: without matching section

Any ideas on how to fix? I really appreciate any suggestions, this is the second time this has happened to me on this site, I deleted every thing the first time because I wasn’t too far along in building the site, but now I have done a lot of work and am hoping to save it.
