    Is this a MySQL ERROR?

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /homepages/0/d187456257/htdocs/lan/wp-includes/load.php on line 566

No, It’s a PHP Syntax error, Basically it appears that either your set of WordPress files are incomplete or corrupt.

An alternate option may be that you’re running PHP4 and attempting to use WordPress 3.2? WordPress 3.2+ requires PHP 5.2.4 or later, You’d need to contact your webhost to see if they have a more up to date version of PHP available.

Thanks. PHP 4.4.9 was running and when I moved up to 5.2.4 everything installed,

Thanks for confirming. I’ve filed a bug and it’ll be fixed for the 3.2 release ?? (So those running PHP4 will get a proper error message if they attempt to install it)
