• Hello,

I have just upgraded to latest version of wordpress but there is an error message, and – except for the actual posts’ text – there is nothing else ! …no navigation or anything.

It says: Fatal error: Call to undefined function utw_showtagsforcurrentpost()

which refers to the plugin, Ultimate Tag Warrior, but when I have tried to re-activate UTW, it brings up another error message like this:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare is_tag() (previously declared in /home/amand/public_html/thejournal/wp-includes/query.php:103) in /home/amand/public_html/thejournal/wp-content/plugins/UltimateTagWarrior/ultimate-tag-warrior.php on line 129

I’m not very experienced with these things and do not know how to progress from here. If anyone can help I would much appreciate it.

  • that plugin is deprecated with newer versions of wp — it has native tag support

you need to remove the bits from your theme files that are calling the display of tags, or any tag clouds, AND leave it deactivated, or just delete the files.

    Thank you for reply.

Could you give me an idea of which files, in what folders, I will be looking for? as I have no idea where to start ??

no, i cant — its a theme you chose, and I presume you edited to add the tags .. you kinda oughta have a better idea than I would.

utw_showtagsforcurrentpost is a tag, search your current theme files for that, to start with.

I don’t want to bite the hand that’s feeding me …but in an all perfect world, yes, I would have a better idea – but the fact is I don’t which is why I’m asking here. but thank you because I really do appreciate your help!
