[02-Feb-2019 18:28:02 UTC] Feedzy RSS Feeds - related feed: - Error message: The data could not be converted to UTF-8. You MUST have either the iconv or mbstring extension installed. Upgrading to PHP 5.x (which includes iconv) is highly recommended.

    Hi @maximmmus

It seems you’re using an old version of WordPress. Please update to the latest version of WordPress and check if you still get the same error.

Hi! same error here. Using the latest, most recent possible WordPress -version.

Also getting error every time when trying to publish new post with feed of ‘Invalid argument supplied for foreach()’ on ‘plugins/feedzy-rss-feeds/includes/abstract/feedzy-rss-feeds-admin-abstract.php’ AND Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at ..wp-content/plugins/feedzy-rss-feeds/includes/abstract/feedzy-rss-feeds-admin-abstract.php:61) in ../wp-admin/post.php on line 210

This all started after the most recent update.

@swp17 can you please paste the entire shortcode you are using?

Hi, thank you for your reply. These issues started after latest Feedzy update.

I can edit posts, but when publishing a new one those posted earlier are the errors I get. Post.php goes blank and only after reloading post screen I am able to access new article. This problem is not my theme related and have not changed the shortcode; same worked earlier.

    [feedzy-rss feeds=”” max=”10″ feed_title=”yes” refresh=”12_hours” sort=”date_desc” follow=”no” title=”160″ meta=”yes” summary=”yes” summarylength=”310″ thumb=”yes” size=”220″ default=””]

@swp17 the shortcode is invalid. It does not mention what feed to use. Can you verify and send us the correct shortcode?

    Hi there! I didn’t include any particular feed url since that seems to be irrelevant. How ever; here’s an example: [feedzy-rss feeds=”https://www.ads-software.com/news/feed/” max=”10″ feed_title=”yes” refresh=”12_hours” sort=”date_desc” follow=”no” title=”160″ meta=”yes” summary=”yes” summarylength=”310″ thumb=”yes”]

Or am I missing some other setting here? Like said, this shortcode structure worked earlier.

@swp17 it looks like you have pasted the shortcode from MS Word or something similar where the double quotes are changed into special characters. Please type out the shortcode in the editor manually or use our button to generate the shortcode. That should resolve your problem.

Hi! Last time I used MS Word was around 2009ish ??

Also tested with using generating new code and using graphic editor, then changed to back to text editor which I always use as a default in order to avoid any character errors. And like said, all worked fine before last plugin update.

And once again, re-tested also with the default theme; error logs generate that UTF 8-warning. Besides that blank screen everytime I post a new ‘feed article’. Like you can see from my earlier post; all the errors come from Feedzy plugin, not e.g. for example my themes header nor anyt other plugin.

Here’s the new shortcode I just made. This is how your button generates it to me.

    [feedzy-rss feeds="https://www.ads-software.com/news/feed/" max="10" feed_title="yes" refresh="12_hours" sort="date_desc" meta="yes" summary="yes"]

@swp17 I copied the shortcode and it ran without a hitch on a WP 5 instance with the latest version of the plugin. Can you try this on a public instance such as poopy.life and let us know what you find?

Hi ya! And thanks for the effort ??

I don’t have Crome installed, and I rather keep it that way.

PHP version I’m running is native 7.3. Consulted my ISP, they told my that I can always ‘downgrade’ to 7.1., and make sure manually that iconv or mbstring extensions are on. This how ever seems a bit unusual procedure, since this plugin is mostly targeted ‘to the non-technical’ masses?

Also in that retrospect error log message which tells me to upgrade at least to PHP 5.x -version is a bit funny?

But yes; I’m starting to believe that current issues are:

First: Slight PHP version incompability based/generated error

Second: As it says in error messages, these other errors point to this part of the plugin:

@swp17 I’m not sure I understand the context for your mention of Chrome.

For the new errors that you see, we will be releasing a new version over the weekend to fix them.

Great! Thank you very much, looking forward to that/ getting rid of these current errors.

And sorry not beeing clear enough; reference to Chrome was simply because of your remommendation of to debug issues with poopy.life.
Googled it, and it’s installation site said I should first install Crome in order to use the extension ??

Hi there @swp17 I see you reported this thread to the moderators. Please note that we are just the folks who enforce the rules around all of www.ads-software.com.

Reporting to moderators doesn’t get any faster support, instead it just kind of attracts attention from folks whose radar you probably don’t want to be on. ??

If you really do need a moderator, please add a reply letting us know why before you hit the report button.

Otherwise, please hang in their for FEEDZY RSS Feeds Lite’s support to reply when they can.

Hi James and thank you. I reported my previous reply on purpose/ in order to contact the mods. I accidentally left there some code, that I’m not fully comfortable on having here. Noticed it too late in order to edit out that by myself. So I’m hoping you could edit that out? Would be highly appreciated ??
