The latest version of the plugin displays the following message when a form (WP forms Lite) is submitted and with wp-debug on

PHP Notice: Indirect modification of overloaded property Cleantalk\ApbctWP\State::$form_data has no effect in /home/xxxx/wp-content/plugins/cleantalk-spam-protect/inc/cleantalk-public-integrations.php on line 2338

We have fixed the problem. All the changes will be included in the next stable release.

Please, reinstall the plugin. ( Download link: https://github.com/CleanTalk/wordpress-antispam/releases/download/dev-version/cleantalk-spam-protect.zip )

Here is a guide for you:

Go to WordPress Administrator Panel —> Plugins.
Find the plugin “Spam Protection by CleanTalk” —> Deactivate.
After the automatic page refreshing find the plugin again “Spam Protection by CleanTalk” —> Delete. Confirm “Yes, delete these files”.
Download the plugin archive from the link above.
Go to Plugins —> Add New —> Upload Plugin.
Choose the downloaded archive and press “Install Now”.

Just installed the latest plugin update from WordPress site, Version 5.163.1 and error message is still there when sending from contact form. Is the fix supposed to be in this version?

At the moment fixes were added only in the dev version. We are going to add the fixes in the 5.164 version which will be released within a week.
