• I’m new to WP installation. I uploaded all the files to my web root and created a new MySQL database. Then I updated the wp-config.php file as said in the installation documentation. But it gives this error when I request wp-admin/install.php page.

Do I need to explicitly create the tables? or will it be created by the installation?

    Thanks in advance!

  • The WordPress install creates the tables for you.

That error message means that PHP does not have mysql support compiled in so WordPress will not be able to talk to mysql at all.

    Hope This Helps
