Error occured while retrieving the facebook feed

    Hi,

    I have used the FB feed on my website for months without issue. Today, it just stopped working. Only the error “Error occured while retrieving the facebook feed” is being displayed.

    I have tried other FB pages, but they do not work either. I did not not change anything on my FB page either. Odd thing is that it all does work on my test environment which works with the same versions of the theme, WP (4.9.6) and plugins.

    Deinstallation and re-install of the plugin did not solve the issue, neither did disabling all other plugins. The FB Likebox, with the same FB page info, does work still. Hope you can help me solve this.

    Hi,

    I have installed the plugin on a different website: same issue with all FB pages I try.
    I also noted that the same issue occurs on a website that I am currently building. All websites I have tried run on WP 4.9.6.

    Another update: issue occurs on my test environment too after I edited a bit of text on the homepage and previewed the page.

    I have installed a plugin that does work but I would really like to use yours. I left your plugin on so you can see the error below the temporary FB feed on the homepage.

    Hi,

    The FB feed started working again, by itself… ? The issue now is t that it does not show the posts’ photos and videos. How can we fix this?

    Hope you will be doing well today ??

    I just checked your site it’s working fine.
    Maybe it’s a temporary issue from Facebook sometimes Api hits rate limits.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply. The feed now works, but it still only displays normal photos. If we use FB slideshows or videos they do not show. Only our profile pic is being shown then. Please see this example:

    I’m also getting the Error listed:
    “Error occured while retrieving the facebook feed”

    It also appears that the 1 hour caching that it’s supposed to do, is not working. As I would assume that refreshing the page shouldn’t cause it to break or randomly work.

    If you can get the caching working, and fix the Error message from replacing the cached content. I’d rather have 2 hour old data (or some attempt at retrying until it’s correctly received) instead of an Error message displayed in the feed.

    Same for me. This has been off and on for a few days but today all my sites using this plugin have the same error. I have had the same errors with video and some other photos as others have reported above.
