Error on Internet Explorer

It has been tested down to version 9 so it must be something with this particular PDF- can you forward the url that you tried this on?

This url for example : https://mortagnesursevre.s18986.mp4.atester.fr/telechargements/magazine-information-vie-mortagne-juillet-aout-2016/

I tested with all my pdf and none works …

I also get this issue using Microsoft Edge.

Digging further, developer console reports the following error:

HTTP404: NOT FOUND – The server has not found anything matching the requested URI (Uniform Resource Identifier).
(XHR)GET – https://flowpaper.com/flipbook/js/jquery.min.map

Any clues – really need this to be resolved for my client!

To confirm, Melusine29 is having the exact same symptoms as me. His URL works in Chrome, but not on Microsoft Edge, and displays the same Console log as mine.

How big is this PDF? I think it may be down to a size issue. The plug-in is limited to 15 megabytes per PDF for IE

Mine are only 10MB!

I’m pretty certain the issue relates to the JS error I posted before. Particularly as it works in Google Chrome, but not on Microsoft Edge.

If you want me to send you my PDF so you can try it out yourself, let me know.

There seems to be a server issue in this case where IE is unable to download the PDF from your server, not quite sure why at this point but you can get around the issue by uploading the PDF to some other location than in your WordPress uploads. Just any other folder than wp-uploads basically, since the issue is related to how WordPress is hosting the PDF.

The following case works fine in IE for example:

Ok…a little bit inconvenient, but certainly will help get around the problem for now.

Is this something you think you’ll be able to develop a solution for, or is it too early to tell without further debugging?

The worry is difficult to overcome for me, these are my clients that put PDF on the site ..
He’ll have to find another solution …

We’ll be adding a check for IE that fixes this today so should be solved in about 48h (for PDFs smaller than 15 meg). Please use our desktop publisher for PDFs larger than 15 megs to archive maximum browser coverage
