    Off and on I have trouble logging in, getting the error Failed security check.

    Tried a couple things, including deleting browser cache and cookies, using incognito window, logging in from Cloudways dashboard, but nothing helped.

    The only thing that worked was sftping in and renaming profilegrid plugin folder.

    Hi,

    As per our response on the support ticket, this issue occurs when a user opens form page and keep it idle for some time and the timing of the session changes during mean time. When user attempts to login is shows the error “failed security check”.

    This is default “nonce” value check is failing (this is an extra security check that makes the login process more secure).

    To avoid this you can refresh the page and fill in the details by not leaving the page idle for a longer period.

    I’m sorry but what you describe as the cause is not the situation I’m seeing.

    This error happens when I’ve logged out and then some time later try to log back in and get that error. Happens about 1 in 10.

    Even in an incognito window.
