• I am running WP2.3.2. I recently changed my permalinks from the default peramlinks (to work with the flickr plugin) and had no problems with the change. But I did notice that my pages dropped out of google. So I downloaded the permalink redirect plugin and configured it successfuly by putting this in the old permalinks box: /?p=%post_id%

The redirects appear to be working fine, and everything looks great, except I am seeing the following error messages when using the MANAGE screen in the back-end.

Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in /home/abcsurv1/public_html/mary/wp-includes/classes.php on line 99

Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in /home/abcsurv1/public_html/mary/wp-includes/classes.php on line 100

The two error messages repeat ten times on my manage page. Any idea what this means??? I am so clueless. It doesn’t appear to be affecting my blog…yet. I have deactivated the redirect plugin, and that didn’t help. I searched for this error message on google and saw a bunch of other blogs that are showing this error message. Please help!

    Thanks!
    Mary

  • Hi Mary this looks like a incompability of the plugin with your wordpress setup. Can you disable the plugin and check if the errors still appear?

Thanks for responding. I disabled all plugins, closed out my browser and restarted, but still saw all of the errors on my manage screen.

From reading other support posts, I am afraid that a plugin has made a change in my htaccess file, so that even if I disable or remove the plugin, the problem will remain. If this happened, what can I do to correct it?

I usually make weekly full backups, but it turns out that I don’t have one for THREE weeks before the error appeared. If I have to revert, I will lose a lot of work! Ugh. I am not familiar enough to know how to manually correct an htaccess file, but is there a way to replace it without screwing up my blog?

    Thanks,
    Mary

Wp2.5.1 also has similar error, here is my posting about the error and I am looking for solution, please help:
