• We have the latest version of the plugin installed on a site and we keep getting an error on each page. We have already deleted the plugin and re-installed it. We also erased the Yoast related records from wp_postmeta table. On the SEO title of each page we get the following error:

Warning: preg_match_all(): Compilation failed: unknown option bit(s) set at offset 0
    in /home/website/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-wpseo-replace-vars.php on line 165

Warning: preg_match_all(): Compilation failed: unknown option bit(s) set at offset 0 in
    /home/website/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-wpseo-replace-vars.php on line 165
    %%title%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%

    How can we fix this?

  • I’m having a very similar issue. I just installed Yoast at https://www.girlpresidents.com and immediately started getting this:

Warning: preg_match_all(): Compilation failed: unknown option bit(s) set at offset 0 in /home/coconut2/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-wpseo-replace-vars.php on line 165

    Ideas?

This issue was posted over 3 days ago and still no reply from Yoast SEO. I understand that this is for the free version of the plugin but Yoast SEO also sells a premium version of their plugin which I’ve recommended in the past to some of my clients. I suggest you guys start providing faster support or we’ll have to stop recommending the use of this plugin. Thank you!

    Totally agree with You Hector!

I have an issue as well with the title and description of my homepage!

Plenty of persons reported Titles & Descriptions issues since the release of 1.5.5.3 but not a single word from the Author.

Busy for sure but will be nice a least that the author confirm the issue and when we should expect an update.

Planning to uninstall this software and use AIOS!

We seem to have fixed the problem on our client’s site.

We deactivated the Yoast SEO plugin when we realized this issue
existed. At that time all plugins had the latest versions. On that site we had the S2Member plugin Version 140725 active. But s@member released a new version of their plugin. Yesterday we upgraded the S2member plugin to v140816. After that we activated the Yoast SEO plugin and now it is working correctly and there are no error messages.

We do not see the connections between upgrading the S2member plugin and the fixing of the SEO plugin. It could be just a coincidence. But maybe this info will help someone else.
