    Hello everyone,
I have a connection problem with the password which is systematically qualified as an error when I connect with a new user test account (I connect without problem on my admin account (I have 2FA).

Indeed, when I create test accounts, I cannot access the site. To access, it is necessary to request the regeneration of a new password via email and there, after having changed it, I could finally connect, it will be accepted.

I believe the problem came with the installation of ithemes security. However, I disabled the plugin but the problem remains.

Is there a connection file corruption?
    Thank you

There, frankly, I lose my Latin…
Again, I downloaded the WP zip, reinstalled WP in the subfolder and then only installed the plugin in question by creating a new user, and again error on connection…

There, it is no longer possible….

    :/

You’ve been installing a plugin in our sub-folder test installation? That is very likely the cause of the problem. On installation it could possibly corrupt other files. I’m sure you’re tiring of making new installations, but at least you’ve probably gotten pretty efficient at doing it. Please entirely remove the last sub-folder installation and do a new installation one more time. Do not install any plugins and use one of the default themes.

You should get normal new user behavior. If not, there’s a server issue. If you do get normal behavior, now you may install this plugin and test a new user again. I suspect the aberrant behavior will return, confirming the plugin is the cause. If confirmed and this plugin is essential for your main site, I suggest seeking help from the plugin’s devs through their dedicated support channel.

Yesterday I undertook to start all over again from scratch: new site installation, renewed BDD and the connection error disappeared as I imagined. Radical but effective!
So the topic is solved. Thank you for your involvement bcworkz ??

    Well…finally not solved :/

I believe I have spotted the anomaly since my invalid connection problem has returned again.

I use a login plugin (“Login Customizer”). This plugin offers me an option called: “Enable custom password fields on the registration form”.
This option, once activated, displays 2 password fields: “password” and “confirm
    the password”
when registering. BUT…, I also find myself with a 3rd password field “password” (in French in the text) and which must be in my opinion the password field of WP and not of the plugin!

If I fill in the 3 fields (with of course identical passwords), I can connect, disconnect and reconnect without any problem.
If I remove the plugin option (“Enable custom password fields on registration form”)
I end up with 2 password fields (password and confirm password)
    and if I fill
these 2 fields, then I can’t login and I have to ask for password reset.

    Complex, no?

Was that “Login Customizer” or “Login Confuser”? X) Wasn’t that plugin deactivated when you were testing and yet the behavior persisted? If so, I don’t know what that plugin is doing but I don’t like it if it’s difficult to disable its behavior.

Clearly the plugin is flawed. Are you sure you have the latest version available? If so, you have limited options. Contact the plugin devs for advice. Find an alternative plugin. If you have coding skills, develop your own custom password form. Stay with the default password scheme.

    Hi !

in fact, I fired the plugin and made a customization manually. everything is in order !

    Hello Jacques,
In fact, no, I haven’t touched anything for the genres, I’m still with M/F. I did not add any others. On the other hand, I changed the type of relationship: love/friendship/other.
