Error posting to Smush.it

    I cannot seem to make this plugin work as it should. For a few months ago, all files were being smushed. With the recent updates to the plugin, I looked through my media pages to check if it is working accordingly. It appears that something is stopping it from working.

    It loads for 60 seconds (as set in the settings) and I get the “Error posting to Smush.it” error.

    How can I go about to troubleshoot this? Have anyone else experienced the same issue? Surely there must be a way to resolve this, it would be a shame to not use this otherwise excellent performance plugin.

    That’s great news!!

    The last release simply removed the debug code I believe (I don’t have specifics, the developer looked at it quickly) which should help for most I believe.

    The initial target is to fix any current issues including rewriting code.

    As for features, perhaps you could open another thread entitled “Feature Request – WP Smush.it” or similar and the mention some of your requests there. If there are popular requests then we can put them to our developer and see what he says. I can’t offer guarantees but I can certainly help push some ideas to the developers attention ??

    @shan, now worries. I know not everyone follows the development of all plugins they use and so it’s understandable. ??

    I got the mentioned “Error posting to Smush.it” error and downgraded to 1.6.2

    But the older version won’t allow to resmush images — this is the error code I get:

    Automatic smushing has been disabled temporarily due to an error. Operation timed out after 20001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received.

    Maybe in 1.6.5 you can make sure that these errors are automatically taken care of to smush older image files?
