Error: Posting to Smushit/Did not Smush.it due to previous errors

I’m using 1.6.5.4 I just saw there is an update available. Would that fix the issue?

Hey there SLIS,

You should definitely update the plugin, since there were a lot of changes from the version that you’re using. Biggest one was in 2.0 with the new API.

I can’t guarantee that this will fix the issue but it’s definitely a good place to start.

Hi sorry, been out of town so didn’t want to mess with this until I returned so I could be methodical. When I updated the plugin it deactivated it and said file didn’t exist?

I was able to reactivate, but now every image has a “smushit now” button in the dashboard and I don’t see any image savings from older images. Did it delete the formally reduced images when the old version used to work better?

Also, I don’t see a way to select “bulk smushit” anymore?

Sorry to hear you’re having these issues, this might be related to upgrading from such a old version. Could you possibly remove the plugin and install the fresh version to see if that will help?

You can create a backup first just in case something goes wrong.
