    Hello,
I’m having a problem with woocommerce paypal payments plugin for a long time. i thought it will be fixed but there are no fixes coming out.
the issue is the plugin is connected with my PayPal account well. and my customers are reporting that they’re unable to pay using PayPal because it’s giving an error “Error processing checkout please try again” and this problem is from the last 10 days. there is no proper error message shown to fix that. please try from your end once by doing a test checkout on my site. also, check this screenshot https://prnt.sc/fy8WHgNo-3Sp
please tell me a fix related to this. thank you.

    Hi @ranaali9320,

When in doubt, please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can provide the proper assistance as we can only fix issues we are aware of.
I suggest downgrading to the previous version 1.6.4 or alternatively trying it with the pre-release version of the new update. This version is experimental though and version 1.6.4 would be the primary recommendation.

    Basically what happens:
Version 1.6.5 contains a fix that resolves an error that could happen in certain multi-currency setups. That change, unfortunately, can impact the functionality of currency switchers though.
Since the currency switching is not detected correctly and your main store currency ZAR is not supported by PayPal, the smart buttons won’t render.
With the exception of version 1.6.5, multi-currency happens to work in most cases. But there are some improvements we need to implement to consider multi-currency officially supported as some scenarios like unsupported currencies could be handled better in some cases. This will happen over the next couple of updates.
Please let us know how it works for you with the previous (or pre-release) version. Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

I see. so if i downgrade or upgrade to the pre-release version the issue will be fixed? because i’ve already used paypal before on my website and got a payment as well in ZAR.

    Hi @ranaali9320,

A downgrade should help if the problem is only multi-currency-related. Version 1.7.0 includes additional improvements and the latest pre-release test5 should be the one that gets released in the coming days when all tests have been completed successfully.

But users will not be able to make a PayPal payment in ZAR in any case as it is not a supported PayPal currency: https://developer.paypal.com/api/rest/reference/currency-codes/ So disabling the PayPal gateway in your currency switcher for this currency would be recommended in any case.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

The issue is still not solved yet after downgrading the plugin.

    Hi @ranaali9320,

Only USD and EUR are supported by PayPal. ZAR and INR are not supported currencies, so the checkout with them may fail.
If you try again with the latest version then the two supported currencies should be working fine at least. But the other may either cause an API error or may not load the smart buttons in the first place.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

such a useless plugin and such stupid support. better go and do other things instead of making buggy plugins.

Since there has been a follow-up thread regarding the same issue, I will close this one: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/error-10605-2/
In any case, using the gateway only with a supported currency will prevent the mentioned errors.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
