I’m getting the following message on some of my orders:
“Error Processing Checkout. Please try again.”

The problem is that the order goes through and money are drawn from the customers account.

What could be the problem?

As a first step, would you please enable logging, repeat the steps to replicate the issue, and then share the log for me to review? To do so, please follow the below steps:

Under “Advanced settings”, tick Log error messages if you wish to save logs that can help you/us troubleshoot your site. This can be disabled and enabled as needed.
1. Logs will appear under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Use the dropdown menu to select, and view.
– The log will be format as follows:
woocommerce-gateway-stripe-[date]-[string].log
2. When enabled, only events that happen after the point of being enabled are logged.

I cant seem to find “Log error messages” under “WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced”?
Under “WooCommerce > Status > Logs” I can see some logs, but none with “woocommerce-gateway-stripe”.

I can for example see:

Hello,

To enable the Stripe logs please navigate through WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > stripe > settings > advanced settings > Log error messages.

Once they are enabled please try to reproduce the issue again, for example, placing a test order.

To get a better idea/context about your site setup, please share a copy of your site’s System Status, You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?

Just to clarify, were you able to reproduce the issue after enabling Stripe in Test Mode, and replicating the scenario to check if the same error appears?

Additionally, could you clarify if the new checkout experience is activated or not?

I have not reproduced the issue yet! I will do it as soon as possible but I need my client to let me set it to test-mode. And since it’s a live website he said he rather waited until next time the problem accour.

And no, we’re not using the new checkout experience.

Looking at your system status I noticed you have the iThemes Securityplugin enabled. If it’s not causing much trouble would you mind disabling the plugin for a while and monitoring if the problem recurs or stops?

Another recommendation is to look at any errors that may be generated in the developer console at the moment of placing an order. Here is how to find the developer console on most modern browsers.
