• I had not been in the backend of my website for several months. I logged in normally and it said that the WordPress version had failed to automatically update. I attempted to manually update it. That didn’t seem to work. Then it the maintenance busy screen came up (two different versions). Next time I tried to get the site or login to load, I received the following error. And this error has continued for the past 24 hours. Honestly I don’t remember which version of WP I was using at the time. Thanks for your assistance. Here is the error:

Warning: require(D:\Hosting\12123287\html/wp-includes/class-requests.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\Hosting\12123287\html\wp-includes\class-http.php on line 11

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘D:\Hosting\12123287\html/wp-includes/class-requests.php’ (include_path=’.;C:\php\pear’) in D:\Hosting\12123287\html\wp-includes\class-http.php on line 11

Sounds like one or more core files are missing or damaged.

Try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.

Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.
