error retrieving the JSON data

  • Hello and thank you for the plugin. I’m having an issue though which I think is related to Bulletproof security and the way it secure’s wp-cron.
    I receive this message:
    “There was an error retrieving the JSON data from the server, try again or contact the developers!
    Details: parsererror — Invalid JSON: TAR error: Unable to open file ‘wp-cron.php’ in binary read mode

    Is there a way to overcome this problem?

  • “Unable to open file in binary read mode” – check if that file is there and chmod 777. Error could result in server configuration, “safe mode on”. Many providers have their server restricted not to allow scipts to write code.

    Often we may experience problems running a plugin if SAFE MODE is enabled. If your server is set up to check the owner of PHP scripts before allowing them to read and write files then some plugins might not work.
