    Hi,

This topic is already been asked before in the past few days (please, this should let you know something is wrong!!) but here we go again as well:

Running SEO data optimization is causing the following error:
[24-Feb-2021 11:34:18 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: Argument 1 passed to Yoast\WP\SEO\Builders\Indexable_Hierarchy_Builder::is_invalid_ancestor() must be an instance of Yoast\WP\SEO\Models\Indexable, bool given, called in /var/www/vhosts/#DOMAIN#/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo-premium/src/builders/indexable-hierarchy-builder.php on line 176 and defined in /var/www/vhosts/#DOMAIN/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo-premium/src/builders/indexable-hierarchy-builder.php:340

    Now, to verify before:
    – Yes, I did use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plug-in, isolated everything untill only Yoast was running and the issue persists. With everything isolated it runs about 50% and then still crashes.
    – Yes, I did use above mentioned plug-in with WordPress’ default theme.
    – Yes, I did deactive all plug-ins to see if that helps
    – Yes, I did deactive everything possible, even the themes except the default WP theme
    – Yes, I did clear all caches
    – Yes, I ran every troubleshooting option there is available with WP, Yoast + addons from Yoast and/or WP

The issue perists on a clean install with ONLY Yoast SEO activated and also on an active install with Troubleshooting running only with Yoast SEO, for me but as well as others with the same topic and issues.

    Hello!

Sorry for the trouble. First, we want to assure you that not performing the optimization process will not affect your site negatively in the search results. Additionally, even if you don’t perform the optimization process, it will still run silently in the background as content on your site gets traffic or modified. The optimization process though will make our plugin work more efficiently.

Can you please perform the following and see if it resolves the issue?

    1. Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin.
    2. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard > Tools (sidebar) > Yoast Test.
    3. Locate the Yoast SEO section and select the ‘Reset Internal link counter’, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation’, and ‘Reset Indexables tables & migrations’ buttons.
    4. After resetting, go to the WordPress admin dashboard > SEO (sidebar) > Tools section and click the ‘Start SEO data optimization’ button.

    Does that resolve the issue?

    Hi,

Thank you for the info, however – no luck.
I did in fact already had the plugin installed and used all of those buttons before as well, but tried it again; no luck – same error ??

    @artifexmedia Thanks for your reply.

Can you please check if during the SEO optimization whether any JavaScript errors appear in the browser console? We have more information on this here: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/
