• Help
We are working on a new WooCommerce website (this will be the second one we have) and I have encounter an issue when trying to add or saving menu items to a menu.

I had already created the main menu at the top of the page that included product categories and the usual helpful links, Account, Contact Us, etc. this worked perfectly fine last week.

Now I can’t add menu items to this main menu or a new one.
I wanted to create a series of menus with info pages to add to the footer. When trying to create a new menu through “Appearance > Menus” I can create a new one and see the name but I can’t add menu items to it. It doesn’t do anything. I then tried to do it using the Customizer “Live Preview”, I can see the name of the newly created menu and here I can add items but then when I try to publish or even save as draft I get this error “changeset_post_save_failure” and it won’t save it.
The other WooCommerce website we have also uses Storefront theme and it’s not giving me this error.

I have stripped this new website of any plugins I had already added to test if there was any conflict so right now I only have WooCommerce activated, nothing else, and the Storefront theme.

    Hi @moraima4 ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you are unable to add new menu items to your main menu and are also unable to create a new menu. Additionally, you have tried this in the Customizer which allows you to add items but are met with a “changeset_post_save_failure”? when trying to publish or save it.

Furthermore, you have another site that has the same theme (Storefront) active and you are not encountering this issue on that site when following the same steps to add items to an existing menu, or when creating a new menu, is this correct?

I am unable to reproduce this issue on my test site, which uses the latest version of WordPress and WooCommerce, and has the Storefront theme active, as menus and menu items are created and added without any issues/errors.

When trying to create a new menu through “Appearance > Menus” I can create a new one and see the name but I can’t add menu items to it. It doesn’t do anything

Please can you check if there are any browser console errors being displayed when trying to add menu items to the newly created menu within Appearance > Menus, and then share any errors here.

More information on how to check for browser console errors can be found here.

Additionally, in order to get a better understanding of your sites current environment, please can you share the following:

    • System Status Report: navigate to?WooCommerce?→?Status. Select?Get system report?and then?Copy for support.
    • Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under?WooCommerce?→?Status?→?Logs.

Once you have these, please share them in your response here.

    Cheers!

    Hi

It turns out while I was waiting for your reply we also started having problems with uploading product images, so my boss started doing research and checking with our host company and he figured out that it was an issue in our database “an incorrectly configured auto increment value for the?_posts?table of your WordPress”, he increased that value and everything started working again.

So thank you very much for replying to me, it looks like we are good to continue on!
