Error Saving Settings

I have trouble as I’m trying to enable the Test Mode for Stripe and everytime I try to hit save, I get “Error Saving Settings”.

Have you tried disabling any caching solutions from your hosting service temporarily?

Could you also share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

It’s also worth checking if there are any fatal error logs from WooCommerce > Status > Logs and choosing from the drop-down menu the fatal-errors.log option.

Thanks for sharing the System Status Report.

Can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce and Stripe plugins are enabled and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

I’ve tested it and I disabled all plugins apart from 2, WooCommerce and the WooCommerce Stripe gateway. Still settings cannot be saved…

What’s causing this? What else can I try?

Just to clarify, you are trying to configure Test mode using test keys, as explained in the documentation section linked here. Correct?

Furthermore, I am reading that you went ahead with testing with all plugins disabled, to no avail.

Could you kindly make sure that, additionally, all server-side, and CDN, caching is temporarily disabled also, before going ahead with trying to enable the plugin’s test mode, please?

I’m following the documentation as you have indicated. The “Error saving settings.” appear at what ever change I try to make in the plugin’s settings, not only when trying to enable test mode.

I have tried again with all the CDN and caching disabled but didn’t have any luck.

I am trying to replicate the issue, on a test installation of mine, without being able to – the test keys are saved, and the order placed subsequently is processed without any issues.

Could you also check if the new checkout experience is active, please? In my test installation, I have it inactive. Linked here is the related documentation.

If that fails too, kindly try re-installing the plugin and see if the issue persists, please.

The updated checkout experience is enabled in my settings. (of course, I cannot disable it as I cannot save the settings).

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin but the situation is still the same.

Any other option?
