    Hi,

Not sure if anyone can help.
I’m also having an issue. Never been able to get Jetpack to work.
    Getting the following error: site_inaccessible

Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [IXR -32300: transport error: http_request_failed Operation timed out after 15273 milliseconds with 0 out of -1 bytes received]

Spoken to GoDaddy and they’re telling me it’s not their problem and they can’t help.

Looking at the Jetpack troubleshooter, I then asked GoDaddy to change the PHP_FCGI_CHILDREN to 2 as asked by Jetpack but I’m being told don’t know what I’m talking about and that that file is in WordPress. When I google this, it says it’s not a WordPress file but one held by the hosting company.

I’ve tried uninstalling Jetpack and reinstalling it but no joy there…
I have the updated versions of both WordPress and Jetpack installed.
I’ve also tried unable all plugins and using the 2012 theme but didn’t make any difference.

Help anyone? I’m going around in circles!

  • I’m having this same exact problem. Yesterday I was told to switch to to PHP 5.2 and then activate jetpack, then switch back to PHP 5.3. This didn’t work and my site wouldn’t load. Today I was told “You will need to upgrade the Jetpack plugin to a new version that supports PHP 5.3. The version that comes on your hosting plan does not support PHP 5.3. Please refer to WordPress Codex for in on upgrading your plugins.”

I have the most up to date versions of everything. I am on the windows servers (thought it was to do with operating system as well!), but I am not comfortable switching to linux because I am complete newbie with this stuff and do not want to mess my site up completely, especially since I just got it all set up!

Hi mamadecreations, switching to Linux won’t do anything to your site, other than making it run better (especially for Jetpack) ?? I strongly suggest you ask GoDaddy to switch your plan to Linux, and PHP 5.3 is great for WordPress and Jetpack. You won’t notice any different in how your site functions or in how you manage your site if you switch your plan to a Linux server.

Thanks Richard for clarifying that. I was just worried that the switch would mess things up after just getting it all set up. I went ahead and switched it to linux and will try activating jetpack again. Thanks for the help ??

Given all the ‘xplaining above, not sure what explains this, but I have the following setup, and am getting the same error message:
    register_http_request_failed

    – Linux server with GoDaddy, with PHP ver 5.3
    – Latest WordPress ver. 3.7.1 and Jetpack ver 2.5

I’ve reviewed the Jetpack’s debugging suggestions (i.e. disabling other plugins, known issues, XMLRPC file), but none apply. I even deleted Jetpack and reinstalled to no avail.

Is the problem somewhere in the coding GoDaddy uses to install WordPress and Jetpack? It is a GoDaddy-customized version of WordPress afterall. I should also note that on previous installs of Jetpack that pre-dated this new GoDaddy version of WP, I had no problems.

Please engineer my happiness…I’d like to take off!;)

@mimi J – you need to start your own thread if you need help – BTW, lots of people are having this issue at the moment, so possibly a JetPack end issue.

No problem–saw that various others had posted their situations in this thread, and received helpful feedback. I just wanted a little bit of that Richard love.

I have worked with the Jetpack plugin support team, done everything I could to get my site to connect to wordpress but still no solution. Downloaded v3.6 today and still can’t connect. I was so hopeful too! If anyone has any clue when or how this can be fixed it would be great. Clients are near dropping me as subscriptions and publicize are very important to them. Also any other subscription plugins that come close to what jetpack has? Thanks.

Sorry I meant to start my own thread.
