[Error] The emails export personal data and delete personal data do not change

Thanks for your message.

I was testing all the Privacy related notification this week as there were some issues with some of the related shortcodes not working however, I have been able to trigger all of these notifications without issue. I also asked another developer to verify this and they aren’t having any issues either.

Are you using the latest version of the plugin and WordPress?

It’s possible that it’s a plugin conflict is also causing the issue. Please can you make your way through this document and let me know how you get on?

I am using the latest version of wordpress, the latest version of the Bnfw plugin and I have used a clean wordpress without any plugin,
I have also used it with the Post SMTP Mailer / Email Log plugin, but the result is the same, it sends me the default wordpress email, not the one modified by Bnfw.
I have used emails of all kinds for both admin and the user who receives the email, gmail, temporary emails, etc.
I have changed the default wordpress themes to various ones like Oceanwp, Twenty Seventeen, Astra, etc.
I have tried HTML Format, Plain Text, enable content shortcodes and disable content shortcodes.
I have done all the possible tests and the result is the same, it sends me the default wordpress email, not the one modified by Bnfw.
Those privacy emails must be wrong since all the others work perfectly for me.

Are you trying to trigger them in a different way?
If not, the only other thing I can suggest is that it’s some kind of an issue with your specific set-up that I’m not able to pinpoint.

I suppose that in my case it must be the server, I have tested it locally with XAMPP and with the https://trincheradev.com/ server which is testing.

Ok, sure. Let me know how you get on.

I can’t do it. I have done about 12 clean installations with different solutions and the emails are not modified by default.
Try it yourselves if it works on this server:
https://trincheradev.com/ and the email used is from gmail.
If it works for you it is that I have something wrongly configured in the plugin.
Is it the email that is not working gmail?

I’m not able to pinpoint the issue unfortunately.
As far as I can tell, providing that you’re using the latest version of WordPress and BNFW and don’t have any other plugins installed that might cause a conflict, then it should be working.

As I haven’t had any other reports of this and I’ve been unable to replicate the issue, I can only suggest at this stage that you may have to try to override these notifications for yourself with some custom code instead.

Sorry I can’t help further at this stage but if I think of anything else to try, I’ll let you know.

After several tests on different servers I see the error in all and it seems impossible that this is right, exactly the emails that do not leave modification are the following:
Privacy – Confirm Action: Erase Data Request – For User.
Privacy – Confirm Action: Export Data Request – For User.
The others did work for me on some servers.
I do not want to give up and see if this has a solution in the end.

I can’t seem to pin down the issue you’re experiencing. As you can tell from the video I posted a few weeks ago, I’ve been able to use and override all of the default WordPress emails that related to privacy notifications without issue. I’ve also verified this with a few other developers and they aren’t seeing any other issues either.

When you tested, are you testing with any other plugins or themes? Are all plugins, themes, and WordPress up-to-date?
