    Hello
    Whenever a donation is submitted the following error appears on the frontend.

    Error: The Stripe Gateway returned an error while processing the donation.

    and in the Stripe logs on the Give plugin.
    Error: Stripe – Customer Creation Error
    in the details it says.

    Could not connect to Stripe (https://api.stripe.com/v1/customers). Please check your internet connection and try again. If this problem persists, you should check Stripe’s service status at https://twitter.com/stripestatus, or let us know at [email protected].

    (Network error [errno 7]: )

    Be grateful for any help or suggestions for fixes.

    HI Dan,

    That’s an odd error, are you testing this locally or is this on a live site?

    Either way, here’s the things I’d check:

    1. Is your site forcing HTTPS everywhere? If not, here’s our guide on how to do that: https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/how-to-use-ssl-and-https-for-your-wordpress-website/

    2. Do you have another plugin that also uses Stripe? It’s possible they are using an older version of the Stripe developer kit. If so, navigate to “Donations > Settings > Advanced > Stripe” and switch the setting that says “Stripe SDK Compatibility”. Then test again.

    3. Have you disconencted Stripe and reconnected it?

    4. Do you have security or caching plugins? Try clearing the cache and disabling both and testing again.

    Hi Matt,

    It is a live site.

    1. The site has full HTTPS

    2. I’ve looked at all the plugins and none use Stripe.

    3. I’ve disconnected several times and that has not worked.

    4.No security or caching plugins.

    I really have no idea what’s causing this odd problem.

    My next guess then is an issue with your Stripe account. Is it an older account? Maybe your Stripe API version is outdated. Login to Stripe and check your API version on the DEVELOPERS menu.

    Can you provide a link to your form so I can take a closer look?
