    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

That sounds strange and I can only assume that something is interfering with saving the table. Does this also happen with all other plugins deactivated and after switching to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Fifteen?

    Regards,
    Tobias

Yes, I tried deactivating all of the plugins and changed it to default theme but still the issue was same.

    Hi,

ok, thanks for testing. If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

I’m not able to find your email address.
Also, there is another issue, whenever I’m editing any of my previous tables, the table vanishes from the live page.
Please give me your email address, I’m really scared… all of my website is on Tablepress.

    Found it.
    Added you on the website.
Please check both of the issues (tables not copying, tables are not showing up if I make any change).

    Hi,

thanks for the email with the login details. I was able to log in.

However, I was not able to reproduce the error. I was able to copy tables without problems, and I also could make changes that were then live on the site. (I tried with https://starsunfolded.com/siddharth-shukla-height-weight-age/ ).

    Hi,

ok, I had another look with the other account that you sent, and with that I can reproduce the issue, and I think I might have found the cause. The problem seems to be related to the database. All relevant entries in the wp_postmeta database table for the TablePress tables are missing. In those entries, TablePress e.g. stores the individual settings/checkboxes of a table, but also the visibility settings of the rows and columns.
If those are missing, the table will be hidden. Also, when they are missing, the table can not be copied which caused the other error message.

To fix this, you will have to save each table at least once and then restore some default values. Mainly, that is the checkbox settings, but more importantly the visibility. So, whenever a table is not shown, go to the “Edit” screen of that table. It is then probably shown in red color. This means that the rows/columns are marked as hidden. You can then click all the checkboxes on the left of the rows and below the columns (if you hold down the Shift key, you can select multiple checkboxes at once). Then, use the “Selected rows/columns: Show” button to make them visible again (so that they are not marked in red).

    Hi,

First of all thank you very much for helping me.

I tried what you said, I can fix the issue doing so but it will take too much of time to do that… so alternatively, as we saw the error is not there with a new admin user, can I make a new admin user and do everything from that account? if I do this, does it involve any disadvantages?

    Thanks
    Nilesh

I checked making a new admin user but the issue is same for that user too.
So I guess I’ll have to edit each table again.

Please suggest if there is any alternative which can save my time.

    Hi,

yes, this is indeed not related to the user, as we first thought. The reason why it worked probably was that the table I tried with was already fixed.

So, yes, you will have to fix this for each table, I’m afraid, but you won’t have to do it immediately, because the tables are displayed just fine. Only when editing a table, you will have to fix the tables, i.e. unhide all rows and columns again.

    Regards,
    Tobias
