“Error thrown” when trying to access wp-admin

    When I try to login via wp-admin, I get the following message: “Error thrown/Call to undefined function mysql_error()”

    Also, my home page comes up blank.

    How can I fix the error? Thanks in advance.

    Call to undefined function mysql_error() is not related to WordPress.

    Usually the hosting package comes with MySQL database.

    I think its best to contact 1and1 and find out if your hosting package has MySQL and the cause of this error.

    Yes, the hosting package has MySQL. That is a good suggestion; I will contact 1and1 and see if they have a solution. Thank you.

    Luckychingi, thank you for your suggestion. 1and1 switched my php from 7.0 to 5.6 and that fixed the problem.
