    Hello,

I have acquired an SSL certificate from my provider and tried to activate it via WP Force SSL plugin. However, my website is stuck in a redirect loop and I can not deactivate the plugin, because WP is stuck there too.

What should I do? Is there a way to deactivate the plugin somehow?

    Thank you

    Filip

  • Hi you can delete it via ftp at wp-contents/plugin folder.

Keep in mind this plugin doesn’t activate the SSL. You activate it via your provider for the domain you want, and then follow the WP instructions for SSL. I explain the procedure step by step in the plugin description.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

I have already deleted the plugin folder via ftp and the problem still persists. At the moment I can get onto my page and /wp-login.php but /wp-admin.php is still in a redirect loop.

Is it possible that the problem lies in the settings I changed after activating the plugin? Because there is a manual in the plugin description what to do to make the plugin work and one of the steps is to change some addresses in general settings of WP.

Hi, that maybe the problem, are you sure you configured your SSL correctly? I don’t mean the WP Settings but the actual SSL Certificate?

I think WordPress is trying to get https (because of the manual change in the settings) but there is no https on the website.

I’m sure this was not caused by the plugin as it doesn’t touch anything in the database, it just forces the SSL using WP functions. Once disabled your installation returns to normal.

Hello Kostas, the support of my web hosting service have *somehow* managed to change some settings in WP and the /wp-login.php runs again.

Thank you very much for your help, anyway, I appreciate it!
