I can confirm it’s working right now for a couple more payments. However – German paypal MTS stressed that the solution is not permanent!

They told me to move over from https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr to https://ipnpb.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr

stressing that the use of https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr cannot be guaranteed for future. So please look into that additionally!

(still cannot save any comment on github – dunno why).

And anyone knows what’s the best solution to refire the IPN calls that were missed? I really need the invoices for my users being sent…
Also some accounts were wrongly demoted – well gotta check them hand by hand too…

Ah okay – well I resend all IPN notices from IPN history – now gotta check 90 user profiles if they are correct or not….

Yesterday, after updating this file, that did still not work.
But this morning, that works, with the new button and the old.

PS : I use “membership order button” in live Editor.

    PS2 : Jordy posted here an e-mail from Paypal : https://disqus.com/home/discussion/meowapps/paypal_ipn_validation_issues/?utm_source=reply&utm_medium=email&utm_content=read_more#comment-2112517878

As I still don#t manage to answer on github due to saving error – just for the question there:

Well – the more sales/turnover you have via paypal – the quicker the reaction time (of Papyal MTS). The did contact me like 60min after the request – and then answered any email within 20-30minutes followup. But they actucally did not carefully check my logs – but well – I think they were right in that the s2member logs are not very extensive so just from the logs I could never have found out about the user agent issue…

So basically they asked me all the time for more logs – and switching the IPN away from paypal.com – but that really did not help me anyway further…
So I can only hope that keeping them busy for some hours – helps them next time not pushing through such stupid security fixes…
