• I have a bug on this site, I’m trying to update WooCommerce to see what the bug is, and I’m getting this error message during the update process: Update failed: Unable to copy file. woocommerce/src/Admin/Notes/Note.php

What should I do to successfully update? I don’t want to delete the plugin completely so that my entire store on the site doesn’t get deleted as well

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

This seems to be a permissions issue or a disk issue. Have you tried going into your file manager and compressing the current version folder and then delete the folder, not the zip file and then go to the backend and try adding back Woo.

If you know CLI you can use CLI to do this all as well. Let me know.

Hi there, Thanks for reaching out!
As @serafinnyc mentioned, may be it’s related to permission issue. To better understand what’s happening, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status Report?
You can find this under: WooCommerce > Status. Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further.?

    Hello @noa1996,

Thank you for reaching out to WooCommerce support. I understand you’re encountering the “Update failed: Unable to copy file. woocommerce/src/Admin/Notes/Note.php” error while updating WooCommerce. As other community members have suggested, this issue may be related to file permissions or disk space problems. For example, @serafinnyc mentioned compressing the current version folder, deleting it (while keeping the backup zip), and then re-attempting the update. This is often effective when permission issues or file locks block the update process.

To help us further diagnose the problem, please share your WooCommerce System Status Report. You can find this by navigating to WooCommerce > Status > System Status in your dashboard. Once you’ve obtained the report, please share it with us using one of the following services:

Your system status report will help us investigate your hosting environment, plugin configurations, and other potential issues contributing to the error.

Could you let us know what your current situation is after checking the file permissions and disk space, and please share your system status report with us via Pastebin or GitHub Gist? We’re here to help you resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
