    Hi,

I’ve installed TrackMe and followed the steps in Settings:
-password (this is the password that’s visible in my TrackServer profile in WP?)
    -sync my positions: on
    -url header: https://www.dekaptruck.nl/trackme/
    -server extension: z

When I press play in the TrackMe app I get the message Error uploading position (user did not exist). Do I need to add a user first?

Also, Can I see the tracking on https://www.dekaptruck.nl/trackme/ or do I need to use a shortcode on this page to make it work?
    Regards Bas

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello Bas,

You are mixing up two things. Please read the FAQ about Trackserver slugs:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/trackserver/#what%20is%20this%20%E2%80%98slug%E2%80%99%20you%20are%20talking%20about%3F

To display a map on a page or post, you always need to use the [tsmap] shortcode. The URL of your page cannot conflict with / be the same as the URL you use in TrackMe. Those are different things.

    Best regards,
    Martijn.

    Hi Martijn,

Ok so I need to add the shortcode [tsmap] on a page. Do I need to add a specific id?
Also, what does the /trackme url? Does it show anything?
And last: what do I need to do to resolve the error mentioned in my previous mail?

From your questions it seems to me you should start by reading the FAQ. Let me know if anything specific is not clear after that.

    Hi Martijn,

I’ve read the FAQ. But it’s still not clear. What I’ve done:
    -I installed the plugin
    -I installed the Trackme app
-in the app I filled in the trackme server settings to ttps://www.dekaptruck.nl/trackme

    The next steps are:
-create a new map in the app
-fill in the shortcode on a page
-run the map in the app

    Right?

When I run a track in the app I get Error uploading position. I reckon this has to with the fact that I don’t have a page yet where it can upload to?
I know that I have to fill in the mapshortcode in a separate page. But where can I find the ID of the map?

    Thx in advance!
    Regards Bas

    Hello Bas,

Forget the shortcode for a while, you don’t need it for creating tracks,

In the TrackMe app, you should configure the URL header and server extension as presented in your Trackserver profile. Your TrackeMe username is your WordPress username and your TrackMe password is the TrackMe password from your Trackserver profile.

If everything is set correctly, TrackMe should be able to send locations to Trackserver, and you should see tracks appear on the ‘Manage Tracks’ page. There, you can also see the track ID.

Then, if you have one or more tracks (which you can also just upload through the WP admin), you create a WP post or page, and use the Trackserver shortcode:

    [tsmap id=<trackid>]

    as documented in the FAQ.

    Does this help?

    Martijn.

    Hi Tinus,

yes the app and the plugin are connected!
When I add a track it shows ‘Gen tracks om weer te geven.’ What can cause this?

    Kind regards Bas

    Hi Tinus,

Do you know why I get ‘Geen tracks om weer te geven’ when I want to add a track?
    Regards Bas
