What type of YouTube Data API Key you generated (Server or Browser)?

Currently Google complains about restriction by IP:

    <!-- YTC ERROR:
    domain: usageLimits
    reason: ipRefererBlocked
message: There is a per-IP or per-Referer restriction configured on your API key and the request does not match these restrictions. Please use the Google Developers Console to update your API key configuration if request from this IP or referer should be allowed.
    -->

If you made Server key, try with Browser key.

Yes I have used the browser key. I saw that error myself, I thought it was a restriction on the referrer. So I changed that to ‘anyone’

I hope you leave textarea field empty and not typed “anyone” inside? Right?

Well I have not typed ‘anyone’ anywhere ??

I left the referrer field blank so it says ‘Any Referrer allowed’ in the summary page.

I had to check that, already had exact issue by mail support (believe or not ??

Please try to disable caching for a moment. Also, please double check do you have proper API Key in your wp-config.php (during development I tested Server and Browser key with restrictions and missed to change type).

I experienced already similar issue with some other plugins (Social Network Auto Poster), but suddenly issue solved w/o any change.

Okay, I will report back soon.

    Thanks!

    Found the issue guys…
In Google Developer Console click on API’s & auth > APIs
Then you will see all the different APIs, over on the right click on “YouTube Data API”

It will tell you that v3 is still experimental and to click “ENABLE” to use it.
Once you do that it takes a few minutes and you have to clear the cache in WP and then the API works correctly

Thanks, but that was part of the instructions followed in the beginning. After doing all that, the error occurred.

I have no idea at the moment.

Try to create new Browser key w/o restrictions and update it in wp-config.php.

I see videos in LHS sidebar on https://www.bhopal.net/ so closing this topic as resolved.

    Cheers

Yes it worked itself last night, sorry I was going to resolve this myself.

Just FYI, I had generated a new key a couple of days ago (browser, any referral), it didn’t work immediately. Last night I happened to update to 3.0.5, that did the trick. I still feel your assessment that this is a Google problem is more accurate. Unless something drastic changed in 3.0.5

    Thanks a lot though!

There are changes in 3.0.5 and 3.0.6 but none of them fixed ipRefererBlocked error – that is new API Key fix ??

Feel free to review and rate plugin https://www.ads-software.com/support/view/plugin-reviews/youtube-channel

    Thank you
