    Hello,
This is a resolution to the above issue

Users like us have experienced a message such as “ERROR: User is locked. Contact website administrator ” coming from the AAM Plugin.

While we were searching both the forums and web we did not find an answer of how it was resolved. So we are posting this to help those who may face the same issue.

Though the error is AAM related, it is most likely admin error.

As reported by user “lorro” on ref link 1,

    –––– quote –––
“The “User is locked” etc message is coming from your plugin Advanced Access Manager, specifically SecureLogin.php line 477.

AAM has a feature to prevent brute force logins, and the number of login attempts in a number of minutes is configurable in user settings. It does not look like the plugin maintains a record of lock-outs.”

    ––– End Quote –––

However is after checking the corresponding feature found at AAM >> Settings >> Security Settings >> Brute Force Lockout is enabled, try disabling it, clear cache and try login the locked user again.

Else, if the user is still being locked, or the feature is already disabled, then it is more than likely you have LOCKED the user unaware.

Navigate to AAM >> ACCESS >> USERS (second single icon) >> Search for the User >> and Uncheck the “Lock User” Lock Icon.

Once the “Lock User” lock icon is “Unlock” to the corresponding user, he will be able to log back in successfully.

    Thank you
