    Hi,

I use this great plugin in the right widget area to always display a list of current holidays.
For this, I have planned many days in advance and always display only the most current one with the shortcode [super_simple_event_calendar posts_per_page=”1″]
The dates are set to 11:59 pm. This works quite well so far.

Unfortunately, every few days it happens that the last appointment does not change from “planned” to “published” and instead “missed planning” is displayed in red in my overview.
The previous (wrong) event continues to appear on the website until I edit it and change it to “published” myself.

I don’t see that I do anything differently with the events than with those where it works properly.
Any ideas to fix the issue?`

    Hi,
    Thank you.

Yes, I have seen this too. The change of status from future to publish is done by cron. Problem is that if nobody visits the website around that time, there is no cronjob triggered, it is missed. I think the time for a missed cron is 3 hours an then it is discarded, though I am not sure about the 3 hours (could not find it anywhere).

In 1.3.2 I did a previous attempt to fix this but that failed.
Now in 1.5.0 there is a new attempt, a bit more crude ?? Hopefully it fixes it.
Now every pageload there is a check for an event with status future. If the date of that event is in the past, it changes the status to publish.

It is not easy to debug cron events. If there is still something going wrong, let me know. I will keep check on it as well.

Thank you very much for your answer and for all your effort with the plugin. Since the update, there has been no error so far. I’ll get back to you if I notice anything else.

    Merry Christmas in advance
