Error when activate

I suspect that initial message might be because you’re on PHP 7.4 – there’s a patch for that here: https://github.com/Simple-Press/simple-press/commit/e56ee76a06c2ac07735947b5a934606308c3fcd9

If you’re comfortable replacing files via FTP you can just replace the file in your system with the one in the path.

Or you can switch to PHP 7.3 if your host allows for it.

We’ll be pushing an update sometime later this month with this patch in it.

I switched to 7.3 but I get the same error:

If I click on “Install” then I get:
Database Problem

Simple:Press can not Create Tables in your database

Can you post a link to the the debug.log file?

Are you able to install other plugins that need to create custom tables?
