error when attaching media to posts/pages from media library

  • WP v 3.2.1
    Firefox v 6.0 & also tried it on Chrome v 13.0.782.218
    Mac OSX 10.6.8
    Theme twenty ten (modified), I have also tried in on twenty eleven (unmodified)

    when I try & attach any media from media library into posts/pages I get an error.

    I can select the media from the media library, eg:

    add an image > media library > show

    When I click the “insert into past” button I the pop-up redirects to a 404 page which displays the active theme :

    “Not Found

    Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.”

    I have already installed the hotfix plugin, but that doesn’t help.
    I don’t have any plugins active & it still happens.

    Any thoughts & advice appreciated.

  • Maybe this will help, as I had a similar problem.

    I went to >>> Dashboard >>> Settings >>> Media >>> Uploading Files >>> Full URL path to Files. I filled that one up even if it said it is optional to do so. E.g. the DEFAULT is /home/content/h/a/i/haigbrown/html/haigbrown/wp-content/uploads

    but I also filled up Full URL path to Files, so I placed
    https://www.haigbrown.com/wp-content/uploads/

    Hope the same works for you.

    Hope I’m in the right Forum…. I just upgraded WP and tried to change an image on a page and NOTHING. I tried to attach the image to the page and NOTHING. I followed the instructions on the CODEX and nothing. I’m here for help, please!!!
