Sorry for the delay in response.

I am unable to replicate this behavior, but that error message is a catch-all error thrown by the WordPress Settings API, which Ad Blocking Detector uses extensively.

Unfortunately, the most common cause of this error is not the cause now (or it would happen for everybody), so it will be extremely difficult to debug.

One suggestion I have that might work is to uninstall and reinstall Ad Blocking Detector if you have not already. I doubt that will resolve the problem, but it might.

If reinstalling does not work, then I do not have a quick solution, unfortunately. I will look into it, but the Settings API, and this plugin’s code used to interact with it is complex and difficult to debug, so it will likely take me a while.

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

It seems that there was a plugin creating a conflict with ABD. I tried deactivating all my installed plugins and then creating a shortcode and it worked. I can’t say exactly which plugin was because I have some of then and didn’t tried one by one, but was a conflict with another plugin for sure.

I can give you a list of them if that helps yo to investigate.

PS: no, the reinstall didn’t worked.

Aha! Evidence! Yay! A list of plugins would help immensely. If you are uncomfortable posting what plugins you run publicly, you can email them to me using the contact form on the plugin’s website: https://tweetthis.jtmorris.net/contact/#contact-form-116

    Thank you for the list!

Several of those plugins I use on a regular basis, and can likely rule out. The others I will install on my dev website and see what happens at my earliest opportunity.

I too had the “ERROR: couldn’t find options page.” error appear when trying to create a shortcode.

The culprit for me is W3 Total Cache. Not sure what setting is the problem, but to create the shortcodes I had to disable W3. Once the shortcodes were created I re-enabled W3. Everything appears to be working so far.

    Im having the same problem.
disabled w3 total cache but didn′t solve it!

    any ideas?

Same issue here, but disabling W3 worked.
