Error when creating of the site map

  • Hello there! Error when creating 2 pages of the site map using the Rank Math plugin. Made a check with the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, the error occurs when working with WebP Express. Perhaps there is a gap somewhere in the code?

    This page contains the following errors:
error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

    Maybe this is important, I see this message in front of the map.
    <!-- Alter HTML was skipped because the HTML is too big to process! (limit is set to 600000 bytes) -->

    I have the exact same issue here; any solutions available please?

    Alex Seidanis I changed the limits to 180000 bytes in the WebP plugin, but this will fly off when updating. I contacted the developers of Rank Math, but apparently they didn’t understand what the error was. They thought I had gaps in the sitemap. Write to them too, then they’ll pay attention when they see that I’m not the only one with a problem.

    Thank you Natalya. Wouldn’t it be wise to exclude .xml files from the altering process? That would resolve the issue I suppose.

    Oh, hang on, I thought you were the developer.
    How did you change the limit? Did you fiddle with the plugin code?

    Hello! It has been 2 months since the developer paid no attention to this question. Should we expect a response with a solution to this problem? This was repeated on another site, where there are many images.
