    Hi.

If you go to this address https://petitsanimals.com/categoria-producto/alimentacion/ you will see that the category menu appears displayed in the sidebar, with a first level of subcategories. When updating to version 2.0.2 of the plugin, this no longer looks like this, but as you can see in this image https://ibb.co/THXWhm4
That is, only the category that is being viewed appears in the categories menu in the sidebar. Other categories and top-level subcategories are not displayed.

    Thank you. ángel.

    Hi pozoalcon,

According to what is shown in the image, it appears that all the subcategories under “Alimentacion” may have been hidden, which is why they are not displayed in the sidebar menu.

Since each site is different, it is challenging to determine the exact issue in this specific case. We recommend that you experiment with hiding each category individually until you find the optimal configuration.

    Hi.
Thank you for your response, but I don’t quite understand what you mean about the question of hiding the categories. Maybe I didn’t explain myself well when I raised the issue.

We don’t want the categories to be hidden. Simply, the issue is that we have detected that with the update of the “Hide Category by User Role for WooCommerce” plugin to version 2.0.2, the product category menu that WooCommerce shows on the category pages appears incorrect.

The menu only shows the category of the page you are on, and the rest of the menu with the other categories and subcategories is not shown (which is what you see in the image that I indicated in my previous message). Now, the plugin is working with version 2.0.1 and the menu is displayed correctly, as you can see on this page that gave an example https://petitsanimals.com/categoria-producto/alimentacion/

    Thank you. ángel.

The behavior you describe is indeed unusual. To better understand and replicate the issue in our testing environment, we need some additional information:

    • The version of WooCommerce you are using,
    • The theme you are using,
    • Screenshots of the configuration for both our plugin and the widget menu displayed in the sidebar,
    • Screenshots of all other elements involved.

These details will help us diagnose the problem more effectively. Thank you!

If you prefer, we can give you access to WordPress so you can review what you need. I think it will be the quickest and easiest.

Having access to the backend would help us understand the issue better. However, while we’re happy to take a look, this will be a superficial review to see if it’s our plugin causing the issue, or some other cause. We unfortunately don’t offer free support for a free plugin.

    Hi.
Yes, I totally understand that it’s just a review perfectly. But, anyway, thank you for it.

Here I leave the access information:

We have reviewed our plugin on your site, and everything seems to be working as expected. For example, when a child category is hidden, both its parent category and other categories are visible in the sidebar.

Similarly, when you hide a parent category, both the parent and its child categories are hidden, while the other categories in the sidebar menu remain visible and functional.

Also, we highly recommend you don’t post login credentials on this public support forum. If you can, please remove the login credentials in your previous post or delete the user.

Ok, I already deleted the user. I really appreciate his effort, but I don’t understand the relationship between my question and his response.

You talk to me about main and secondary categories, hidden or not hidden, but I don’t understand what you mean by this. The problem is that with version 2.0.2 of the plugin the category menu does not work well. Only the current product category is displayed, but other categories and subcategories are not displayed. However, in the current version 2.0.1 they are all shown.

Again, I want to thank you for your work.
