Instead of installing the comlete version 2.5.1, I copied the 3 files recommended for the security fix.

    The 3 files are:
    wp-includes/pluggable.php
    wp-admin/includes/media.php
    wp-admin/media.php

After the copying was done, I got this error message when I tried to enter the site:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: absint() in /home/10/w70282/hatleweb/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 123

How do I solve this problem?

  • well, you indicated when you opened this thread that youre running 2.3.3 .. you cannot, I repeat, you cannot install 3 files that were intended for a 2.5.0 install onto a blog that is running 2.3.3

    thats not how it works.

those 3 files are intended for WP blogs that are already at 2.5.0.

Consequently, you either remove those three files, and upload ones out of the 2.3.3 zip, which will put you back where you started.

    OR

You go through the normal upgrade process.

AND, before you ask where to get a copy of 2.3.3 — you click the Big orange link at the top of the page thats says “Download”. On the next page, you look on the left hand side, where it says “release archive” You click that, and you will see 2.3.3 among the versions available.
