Error when loggin in to admin panel

  • I just upgraded from 2.3 to 2.5 and everything seems to be there, but I cannot get to the admin panel.. When I submit the login form it does log me in, but I cannot view the admin panel.. I get this error:

    Warning: main(admin.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/m/o/s/mostofficial/html/blog/wp-admin/index.php on line 3

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'admin.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/content/m/o/s/mostofficial/html/blog/wp-admin/index.php on line 3

    I’m not up to par when it comes to reading these error messages, but the files are in those directories..

    First, check that the file exists. Obviously.

    Second, check that it has the correct permissions. All the files in wp-admin should have permissions of 644.

    All files are there with permissions of 644. Perhaps I need to do a fresh install..

    Did you upgrade by overwriting the old stuff?

    If so, try deleting wp-admin entirely and uploading the new wp-admin directory. Same for wp-includes. Overwriting files doesn’t always seem to work well.

    I first deleted those directories and then uploaded the new versions.. I followed the detailed instructions on wordpress for upgrading.. I’m doing a fresh install now.. I’ll let you know how that goes.. Maybe it will fix my problems.. I just installed the other version last week so I’m not really losing much..

    Well the fresh install seemed to work just fine..
