    tested a few things:
    work fine on twentyfourteen
work fine with this beta: https://github.com/qTranslate-Team/qtranslate-x/archive/master.zip (downloaded on 18/5/2015)
my current work around is to use beta version when i need to modify the menu. Then switch back to 3.3.
    thx

Hallo, i have same problem with this, but my limit is 27 ??

a tested it with theme twentyfourteen, same problem.

only way i can do it is disable qtranslate x while adding new item to menu and after i add it enable it again.

This is a quote from Troubleshooting Guide:

If number of menu items becomes big enough, you will need to increase max_input_vars in php.ini, which is by default is set to 1000. If you have WP_DEBUG on, you will see “Warning: Input variables exceeded 1000″ on menu editor /wp-admin/nav-menus.php a few menu items before it will generate fatal error. Contact your hosting provider to find out how to increase max_input_vars. The value you need is roughly 100 + [number of enabled languages] times [number of menu items] times 11.

    hello

I have the same trouble here. My reach limit is 49 items (including sub items)
When I try to add new item anywhere in my menu, the lasts items just disappear. Sometimes I have the same error message as mentionned (i think), but usually I don’t have message. Only “Menu has been updated”.

Then My only way to make it up, is to disable q-translate, build my menu by using [:en] tag translation, then activate qtranslate again.

Very annoying, especially because website become unreadable when all languages are displayed at the same time during disabled qtranslate-X.

What can we do ? Iwant to hack the admin files, but where should I go ?

(and I don’t see why it should have anything to do with php limitation since it works very well when qtranslate if off…)

Did you try to follow the quote above:

Contact your hosting provider to find out how to increase max_input_vars. The value you need is roughly 100 + [number of enabled languages] times [number of menu items] times 11.

    Well
1/ There is absolutely no way that my provider (as any provider) will change php.ini on a shared server. I’m not using a dedicated server for a mere website with no applications.
2/ according to your formula, and according to the default php limit at 1,000, you are saying that the qTransalte-X requires the menu to be less than 40 items if 2 langages, and less than 20 items if 4 langages

I think this limitation should be written down.

No one can ask a provider to change php configuration. The provider will more likely ask you to upgrade account to a dedicated one (from 10$ a month to 100$ a month…)

I think you’d better considering this as an issue.
Maybe you could get rid of this “times 11” fonction in any way.

Can we help you ? Why do you need times 11 input vars ?

Well, at least my provider allows max_input_vars to be increased through .htaccess : “php_value max_input_vars 4000

I’ll try this and tell if it works.

    ==> Ok it works.
    This is a solution.
But I still think it should be modified on the plugin.

    Thanks for support !

cant expect every thing to work nicely ??
always good to be able to find a work around ??

But I still think it should be modified on the plugin

I have impression that input vars are all set way before any plugin is executed. Please, let me know the way to set it in the plugin. Please, test it on your site first.

No one can ask a provider to change php configuration

This is not what I suggested. I meant to ask provider how to do it by yourselves. Each good provider enables a way for customers to customize configuration per site, even on a shared server.

    Same problem here !
this was not a problem when using the old qtranslate so it is a plugin problem and not a hosting issue.

please fix it so we can easily change menus

    thanks

Happening the same with me. Already increase the max_inputs_vars in the server and still not working.

Hi guys, In my menus few items are missing, but not exactly the last ones. For instance in menu ASIA there are four items (countries) missing.
    My website is https://www.happyfrogtravels.com
Also the menu on the right named Categories displays strange text, you can check it here: https://happyfrogtravels.com/blog/ I guess the problem is that the categories that appear in the menu have header photo…
What should I do to fix this?
    I use:
    Virtue theme
    qTranslate-X plugin
    Yoast SEO plugin
    Yoast SEO & qTranslate-X plugin

    Thanks
