Hello and thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear you are getting this AMP article validation error. This indicates that you are missing a publisher logo for your Web Story.

Could you check your Web Story from the editor > Document > Publishing section and confirm you have a Publisher logo set?

If you don’t then you will need to set one and this should clear that warning. If you do already have one set then would you be bale to please provide your Site Health information or privately via this form.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for providing the information. Could you please also confirm that when in the editor for your story and going to the Document > Publishing section that you have a publisher logo set? See this example of where this should be.

Thanks for confirming this. To rule out any plugin conflict here would you please be able to perform the following steps:

Use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin and enable its troubleshooting mode. This mode disables active plugins and switches to a default theme safely because it only affects the experience of the logged-in user.

    • Please enable the Web Stories plugin and let me know if the issue is present.
    • Enabling plugins and your theme one by one in this mode may help pinpoint if something else is involved.
    • Note you can disable troubleshooting mode from the plugins page.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have now been able to replicate this with my own story and it looks like it could be as a result of a plugin conflict with Rank Math SEO.

Would you please be able to temporarily disable the plugin and run a new AMP validation test and confirm if this clears your previous warnings.

    Hello Adam,

Can you please tell me which plugin do I need to disable?

Could you temporarily disable the Rank Math SEO plugin on your site and then check again if you get the AMP errors.

Please let me know how this goes for you and if you have any questions.

Thank you for trying this. This confirms that the missing publisher logo error you were getting is as a result of a plugin conflict with Rank Math SEO.

I have tested the plugin myself with the same result and have checked to see if there are options to add the publisher logo manually from the plugin settings but this does not look possible. I have also checked to see if you can disable Rank Math‘s schema capabilities for stories but this also doesn’t look possible.

As for the missing author url messages you are now getting I presume you are getting these once the Rank Math SEO plugin is disabled? The Author URL is an optional field in structured data and not mandatory.

In this case I would contact the Rank Math team regarding the missing publisher logo error to see if there is something they can do to fix that. Then if they can the optional warnings you have should no longer show if you use the Rank Math plugin.

In the meantime the only way you will be able to avoid the missing publisher logo error message would be to keep the Rank Math SEO plugin disabled.

Hope this all helps and do let us know if you need additional support from us based upon their reply.

    Hello Adam,

But disabling the Rankmath plugin will stop the related functionality.

Also, please let me know that the publisher logo error is mandatory. Does it affect my web story from not getting appear on the google top story section?

    (@adamdunnage)

@technicalsphere01 I understand and this is something we are unfortunately unable to assist with but Rank Math should be able to if you contact their support team.

Also, please let me know that the publisher logo error is mandatory. Does it affect my web story from not getting appear on the google top story section?

You should be able to find more information on this here as well as the Search Console Help Centre.

@technicalsphere01 You are very welcome and glad to hear they were able to resolve this issue for you.

For future reference, is this something that you had to amend on your side or was this a change/fix made by RankMath?
