I’m also receiving the error “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”; I’ve searched the forum, and the link provided has not helped at all. I understand that it may be marked as spam due to the orange border, but I’m not using Akismet, and have no clue how to do anything with the cache. I have other sites where this is working perfectly on, but for whatever reason, when I attempt a test on the below site, it fails to work.

Site it is not working on: https://www.illuminationscanada.com
Example of site it works on: https://www.biologic.ca

The contact forms are nearly identical. I can’t figure out why it works on one but not the other.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

  • I have the same issue with 2 of my sites. One is working and the other is not. The one website with the issue, I did not create from scratch. Someone else had the lead. I am wondering if there is a conflict with one of the plugins.

This error message usually displays when Contact Form 7 has configuration errors, are all the emails spelled correctly in the dashboard and does the “from” field have an email that matches the same domain that the form is running on? Without this info set properly the form can’t complete the submit process.

Having the same issue on the multiple sites – I have check the validations and everything seems to be fine. What changed?

All emails are spelled correctly, the email in the from field does have an email address from the same domain – it’s nearly identical to the same type of contact form on another site that is working perfectly; that is to say the only things that have changed are to personalize them to the site where it is located.

I’ve seen the publisher comment on these types of posts, but hasn’t posted here yet. If there’s a simple configuration error to be corrected, I don’t see it. If you want screenshots or the code I’m using, let me know and I’ll post it.

Seems like this is a pretty big problem. Several other posts about ReCaptcha integration breaking forms here on the forum.

I wish I could just use Really Simple Captcha. It always worked for me.

I removed the line implementing the CAPTCHA and sent a test… it worked. I guess I’ll have to re-check the CAPTCHA info now.

Did anyone find a solution to this? I just ran into the same problem and can’t figure out why it’s showing the orange box error.
