Error when trying to authorize wp smtp

    When trying to authorize th eplugin with google, I have followed the steps, however when authorizing it (after allowing it in google) it takes me back to the wp smtp plugin page and I see “There was an error while processing the authentication request. Please try again.”

    When I go into my server logs I see a URL (comes back that says GET /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp-mail-smtp&error=google_no_code_scope HTTP/1.0 and it has a 200 (so access granted)
    Any idea what it can be?

    Hi @chabadrichmond,

    The error typically means that the incoming requests to a server with a URL inside the GET parameter could be blocked by your server Firewall or ModSecurity, so WP Mail SMTP can’t receive the auth code needed or that the scope doesn’t match what was initially sent to Google.

    Could you please contact your hosting provider to see if anything is blocking and ask them to whitelist those requests.
