I’m getting the following error when attempting to connect the latest version of Jetpack on our site:

Invalid request, please go back and try again.
    Error Code: invalid_client
    Error Message: Unknown client_id.

    Site: https://gearpatrol.com/

I’ve deleted and re-installed Jetpack several times to no avail.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Could you try to deactivate and delete Jetpack again, through the Plugins menu in your dashboard, and then upload and install this small plugin?
    https://i.wpne.ws/doye

Once you’ve done, you can load one of your dashboard pages once, and the small plugin will delete all Jetpack options that may be left in your database. Then, deactivate and delete that small plugin and install Jetpack from scratch.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Jeremy! That seems to have fixed it.

    Hey Jeremy,

It looks like we lost all of our site stats in the process of doing this. These stats are very important to us. Is there a way we can restore them on our account?

    Hi Jeremy,

I am getting the same error message as John originally did. I have done what you have suggested and still I am getting the error message. Can you please help me?

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

@john It looks like your previous set of stats was linked to your staging site’s URL. When you reconnected, you created a new data set for your production URL.

Could you go to Jetpack > My Jetpack in your dashboard, and disconnect your site from WordPress.com? Once you’ve done so, let me know and I’ll move your old set of stats to the production URL for you.

    Thanks!

@tara Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

    Thanks!

Thank you for the help Jeremy. I’ve disconnected the production site from Jetpack as you requested.

Can we restore the old stats with the stats from the last three days so that nothing is lost? In other words, combine the two data sets into the production account?

    Alright, you can now reconnect.

Yes, I took care of that as well. You should be all set!

Thanks Jeremy, however we’re not seeing the stats for Nov 13-16.

I’m also seeing our staging url associated with the WP.com account, not the production url.

The account url seems to be fixed now, but we’re missing several days of really important stats which are part of the other data set which was active when JP was connected to the wrong account.

Is there any way to merge those numbers into our current production set?

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Alright, I’ve merged more data into your current set of stats. It looks like there were other duplicates created in the past few days.

Let me know if things look okay now. I had a look at your site settings, and didn’t find a day of missing stats.

Thanks for all of the help Jeremy. Its looks like all of the stats are back except for the traffic that came in when JP was disconnected from the site. I doubt there’s much we can do about that. ??
